Summer Diaries Part VII: Biarritz, France

Bonanza Retreat with @amandadjerf

Words by Society De La Rassi
Photographs by Amanda Djerf + Cosmos

Biarritz is a paradise where its beauty lies in the architecture, gastronomy, and, of course, the surfing. This summer, we joined Amanda Djerf for the Bonanza retreat, which took place in what felt like a dream. The Basque style architecture, woven into the small French details, met with the ease of a day in a surf town. Biarritz is the dressed-up kind of casual that makes it distinctly charming.

Just 22 kilometers from the Spanish border, Biarritz feels like the natural meeting place of Society’s two worlds. The spirit of Spain, home to our Neue Brut, meets the romance of Provence, where Beso Besa was born. Here, fresh seafood and pintxos are finished with a slice of Basque cheesecake and a pour of non-alcoholic bubbly, enjoyed alongside the ever-present ocean views. It’s no wonder summers here live on postcards, in French films and now and forever in the archive of our memories.

Feel the Biarrtiz air with a beautiful and aromatic cocktail adapted from Bar Napoléon III located right on Avenue de l'Impératrice.
